Professional experience

During his tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he participated in many foreign policy meetings, international discussions and meetings. He gained unique experience that he can apply in legal representation for both local and foreign clients. He specializes in commercial and public law, and is also responsible for the contact management agenda and public sector relations. He also coordinates cooperation with Becker & Poliakoff Consulting, which focuses mainly on strategic communication and public affairs. Together with two partners, Petr Ježek and Pavel Telička (the first Czech Commissioner in the EU), he founded BLX Consulting s. r. o., which provides strategic advice and support to other entrepreneurs in terms of their interest and function within the EU. He has served on supervisory bodies in several companies, including large companies such as České radiokomunikace, where he has represented the interests of TeleDenmark.

Professional experience

A graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. After graduating from the Faculty of Law, he worked as a lawyer in the joint-stock company Technoexport. From 1990 to 1992 he completed an internship at the University of Copenhagen. From 1993 to 2006, he worked as a lawyer, and for a substantial part of his career he worked for the international law firm Dewey Ballantine. From 2006-2008, he was director of the legal department of the international development company ORCO. His focus was primarily on mergers and acquisitions, real estate law and, to a large extent, dispute resolution. He has been with Becker a Poliakoff, s.r.o., advokátní kancelář since 2008.

Professional experience

A graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague in 1973, a lawyer since 1996 (commercial lawyer since 1994), at Becker and Poliakoff since 1994, and partner at Becker a Poliakoff, s.r.o., advokátní kancelář from its establishment in 1996 to 2011. In previous years, he worked mainly in the international legal department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he dealt with public, private and commercial international law at various times. From 1993 to 1994 he studied at the Asser Institute for International and Community Law in the Netherlands. He has years of international experience, including in negotiations, in a variety of legal areas of bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. He currently focuses on labour law (including employment and collective bargaining), gambling and gaming law, commercial, civil, international and art law. He is a member of the Czech Society for International Law.

Professional experience

Anna Barešová is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University. During her studies, she completed a study stay at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn under the Erasmus + program, where she focused mainly on labour law. Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, she gained experience in two renowned Prague law firms. Anna has been working with Becker & Poliakoff since 2016, then as a trainee lawyer from 2018, and in 2021 she became a lawyer. She primarily focuses on labour law and gambling and gaming law in her practice. She is fluent in English and German.

Marek Novotný is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and also the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague. During his studies, he also spent a year at the University of Loughborough in the United Kingdom, where he also studied media law.

He strengthened the team at Becker a Poliakoff, s.r.o., advokátní kancelář in 2012. As part of his work in the firm, he focuses primarily on civil, commercial and administrative law, focusing on legal matters involving real estate. He advises the firm’s clients in transactions (preparation of contractual documentation) and acts as legal counsel for them in administrative and judicial proceedings.

Professional experience

Mgr. Ing. Tomáš Střeleček, LL.M., Ph.D. is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics in Prague, and the University of Cambridge. During his studies, he completed a six-month residency at the Université du Luxembourg and the Max Planck Institute for Procedural Law in Luxembourg. Before joining Becker a Poliakoff, s.r.o., advokátní kancelář, Tomáš gained experience at a renowned international law firm and at the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. As part of his work in the law firm, he focuses primarily on civil, commercial and administrative law. He advises the firm’s clients in transactions (preparation of contractual documentation) and acts as legal counsel for them in judicial and administrative proceedings. In addition to working in legal practice, Tomáš has also been involved in pedagogical, scientific and publishing activities for a long time. He is fluent in English and French.
